Every fact has a source we opened
A factual sentence on this site comes from a source we opened and read: NHS pages, guides from NHS services and universities, and peer-reviewed studies. Where we read only a study's abstract, we say no more than the abstract does. Each page lists its sources at the bottom.
Checked and signed by a person
A page is published only after a named member of our team has read it against every source it cites. Until then it stays out of search results. We are not clinicians and do not claim to be: we describe pages as “fact-checked”, never “medically reviewed”.
What we won't publish
- Diagnoses, scores we made up, or promises that a tool treats or cures anything.
- Statistics we cannot trace to a source.
- Guesses about what another person thinks, feels or intends.
- Tools for intrusive thoughts, trauma, self-harm or health worries: these need a professional, and we point to one.
Corrections
If you find a mistake, tell us through the contact address in the privacy policy. We check it against the source and correct the page; the “last reviewed” date shows when a page was last checked.
